Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)

What is an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)?

Electrical installation condition reports (EICR) are issued as an official document following an inspection by a qualified engineer or electrician. The assessment is based on the quality of your electrical installation, which will deteriorate over time. Electrical installation condition reports are carried out as per BS7671. An EICR is generally recommended every ten years (five for privately rented properties) or whenever there is a change of occupancy in a dwelling.

An electrical installation condition report (EICR) will reveal if the circuits are in good working order and are safe to use. It will also expose if any defective electrical work has been installed and examine the consumer unit's condition.
